New Entrants Visit the Nelson Campus
On Wednesday, 14th September the Year 3-4 children were delighted to host the Year 2 children who will be entering Year 3 at the start of the next school year. The children met Ms Stuart and they worked on some practical measuring tasks with their buddies. The rest of the day had a sunflower theme: the children shared some reading about sunflowers, they sowed sunflower seeds in pots, they drew pictures and wrote about growing sunflowers, and they made small labels to go on the individual pots. We hope that there will be some seedlings ready for planting out in the junior gardens on the new entrants’ next visit, and when they start school next year there should be lots of giant sunflowers waiting to welcome them. The Year 3-4 children were true to their OSG values, doing a wonderful job of looking after their new entrant buddies.
