West Coast Y3-6 Excursion - Woods Creek
Because they have created their own ‘West Coast’ version of the OSG Learning Pit, part of the Term 1 excursion involved a trip to Woods Creek walkway where West Coast 3-6 students got to explore some caves and tunnels created by gold miners many years ago. The class was also looking for photo opportunities so they can merge their cave experience with the classroom learning pit.
After the bush trek, the children went to Miss G’s little farm where after feeding the animals, they constructed bivouacs in groups in the bush. The bivouac needed to be waterproof and be big enough to shelter the whole group.
It was great to see such collaboration, diverse ideas, and amazing bushcraft all within a very tight timeframe.
The sun was shining, and the day was perfect.
