Blenheim Campus
YEAR 3-6 GO TO GREYMOUTH
On Monday 9th September, some of the Year 3-6 students from Blenheim travelled to Greymouth to spend some time in Mrs. Gilbert’s class. When they arrived on Monday afternoon, the task was to construct an earthquake shelter from a tarpaulin, two stakes, some rope, elastic, some tape and pair of scissors. The strong wind made this task rather difficult, but all groups managed to construct a make-shift shelter.
On Tuesday, the focus was on collaboration and self-directed learning. The students had to read through a set of instructions as a group, and then complete the tasks which included; seed counting, birthday baking, personal writing, a Kahoot, making “bean bags”, and practising their skipping. The Blenheim students thoroughly enjoyed their time in Greymouth, and learnt a lot, especially about the need to read the instructions carefully!

DAFFODIL DAY FUNDRAISER
On the 4th September Year 7-8 students put on a Daffodil Day themed morning tea to raise money for the Marlborough Cancer Society. We had delicious cupcakes, sausage rolls, yellow jelly and yellow sparkling duet. We raised a total of $150 which we presented to the Marlborough Cancer Society team on the 11th September. It was greatly appreciated, and it will provide help and support to those in the community. We look forward to supporting the community based organisation next year.
