Message from Campus Principal

As we get to the end of Week 3, I am pleased to report how focused the students are in their new learning environments. They make good use of all the different zones in the learning centre. Some are fully focused in the individual booths during their lessons or when they wish not to be disturbed, while others are working with teachers or peers in the collaborative zones. This is evident in both the junior and the senior learning centres. All students are encouraged to use the language of learning, focus on their student personas and develop their understanding of the Assignment and how the lesson, the study, the tutorial, the backpack and our school values fit inside the Assignment.

All the students should have completed their goals by now, please discuss this with your child. The senior students have a new platform from which we can track their results and house points, this will be shared with you at a later date.

On Monday, the Global Campus Modernisation team will visit the Blenheim Campus. We are looking forward to hosting them in our new learning environment.  Just a reminder that on Tuesday morning there is an NCEA assembly for the Year 11 to 13 students.

Mrs Trish Gilbert, the primary lead teacher for our campus, will be visiting us on Wednesday and Thursday.

Today Jett Clifford is attending the face-to-face meetings with his subject teachers in Auckland, accompanied by Mrs. Webb and Tayla Clifford.  I would like to thank Tayla for accompanying Jett on this visit.  I am sure Jett will find the visit very productive. The Year 13 students will fly to Auckland on the 23rd of February for their VC visit to meet all their subject teachers face to face.

When you are reading the newsletter, please take note of all the important dates. There are also links in the newsletter that can be used by parents, staff and students if and when the need arises.

I would like to wish you all the best for the coming fortnight, and I hope you will enjoy the weekend.
