Upper South Athletics Day - Friday 12 March at Saxton Oval, Nelson
Athletics Day is tomorrow and final arrangements are being sorted for this. Below are some important points to make sure you and your family are ready for what we expect to be a great day. Uniform – all students MUST wear OneSchoolGlobal uniform for the day. This could be their blue polo shirt or house coloured t-shirt and the OSG shorts/skort/skirt. Students must wear appropriate footwear to compete. If students are wearing spikes they must be cones or pyramids and no longer than 7mm. Students wearing spikes MUST use starting blocks. Schedule- all Blenheim and West Coast students need to be at the track by 9.15am, you need to have your name ticked off by a staff member taking the role at the results board. Nelson students (Year 7 – 12) at Campus by 8.30am as normal for role call. The schedule for the events is at the bottom of this message. Junior school – Blenheim, West Coast Year 3 – 6 students should go straight to the track by 9.15am, you will be competing on the far side of the track and in the adjacent field. Nelson students should meet Mrs Phillips at school to be shuttled across to the track. Parents are able to walk around to go and watch these events and cheer students on. Safety – the control centre, in-field area and back of the pavilion are all out of bounds. Only adults running the events or assigned as photographers and students that are competing in an event should be inside the track fence. Results – there is a results board on the lawn near the control centre. This will be updated as soon as results are confirmed and have been electronically entered. There can be some delay in this. This is also where finals lists will be posted for 100m. Please note that there is currently a glitch in the electronic systems (this is occurring internationally) used in the control centre and may mean finals lists have to be manually compiled. Please be patient with this and listen for announcements for when they are ready. Lunch orders – please ensure you have completed your lunch order on the Kindo app before lunchtime today.
