Our day in Blenheim consisted of a successful turn-out of grandmas, future mums and most importantly, mums. When they arrived, there were a couple different games ready for them to play down in the junior end. These games were a kahoot and some skipping which the students led, some mums joined in. They then made their way down to the room which the seniors had set up with the food and drink, ready for them to come and enjoy.

SEWING
Lainee, Saffron, Sienna and Romane
For this term’s technology, the Year 7/8 girls made aprons. There were three fabrics to choose from. Once chosen, we cut our patterns. After that, we started sewing. Step by step and by lesson two, we were hemming and sewing on the pockets. The next steps were fun. We spent almost the whole lesson inside outing our waist ties. After much cutting, pinning, ironing, and sewing we were finished. Overall, we really enjoyed sewing, it was a lot of fun.
Amaya, Chelsie, Tanya, Sequoia
For tech, we have been making aprons. First, we picked our fabric and pinned the pattern to it. Then we cut out the pieces of material. After we had done that, we began to sew. Once finished, the early finishers made scrunchies.

WOODWORK
Aubrey, Ryker, Romano, Perry, and Leroy
For technology, the boys did woodwork. We all made toolboxes with the help of Mr John Strachan and Mr Warwick Beatson. We all enjoyed it and we got to take home a good strong toolbox.
Ranger, Carter, Romer, and Micah
Last term for Tech, we started woodwork which we thoroughly enjoyed. We made toolboxes with special dividers and cool handles. We did this with help from Mr Strachan and Mr Beatson. We learnt a lot of carpentry skills. It has been great fun.

The Year 7/8 West Coast students created a piece of art inspired by Ali Golzad who uses recycled cardboard to create his masterpieces. We looked at different ways we could manipulate cardboard to create different forms, shapes and textures.
