Year 3-6 Excursion to Whenua Iti
The Upper South Year 4 – 6 students spent their term 4 excursion at Whenua It Outdoors last Friday. The day was filled with exciting adventurous tasks which included low rope challenges, hut building, adventure-based learning challenges, and orienteering. The children worked in teams of 10 – 12 and were led by highly skilled instructors who quickly built trusting relationships with their groups. Through each activity, the children were gently guided by their instructors to develop their collaboration skills. The children learned how to communicate better in their teams, to problem solve, to support and encourage each other, and to keep persevering. Some children took the opportunity to build their leadership skills. It was great to see how each team made progress within their team through the day. And the rain pretty much stayed away the whole day!

Blenheim Campus Vegetable Garden
The Year 4-6 students at the Blenheim Campus have been looking at the cost-of-living crisis and what we can do to help. They came up with the idea of planting a garden and donating the produce to people in need. After planning and researching what they wanted to grow, they headed into town to purchase some plants. They then topped up the gardens with compost and got planting! Now they just have to wait for their veges to grow! A special thank you to Mitre 10 for donating the plants, and to Mr. Jonathan Faulkner for donating the compost.
