Hello and welcome back to 2024!
I trust that you have all had a relaxing summer break and are now ready to make the most of what promises to be an exciting year ahead. A special welcome to all of our new Year 3 students and their families, plus all of our new OSG staff. We are thrilled to have you join us at OSG and know that your educational journey will be filled with awesome learning experiences. 2024 will see us continue to build on our 3 key strategic pillars of High Performing Teams, The Learning to Learn Framework and the Campus Modernisation Programme. Many of our campuses have seen some significant work happen over the summer break and our staff and students will benefit hugely from this. A big thank you to all of our Campus Management Teams and Boards for your commitment to ensuring our campus facilities are world class.
The following newsletter contains some important information that will ensure you and your children start the 2024 school year in a stress free and positive way. Please take the time to read through it and feel free to reach out to any of the Teaching and Learning Team if you need any more information or have any questions. As always, remember that your Campus Principal should be your first point of contact, but any of us will be only too pleased to answer any queries.
Thank you again for all your support and we look forward to working with you to ensure 2024 is a very successful year.
Matt Morrison - Regional Director of Education
I'd like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who worked so hard to make Blenheim Campus one of the best in the country. I'm sure the students and staff appreciate the beautiful environment in which they now work.
I would like to welcome all our students back to school. Special welcome to Louis Faulkner, who joined the Primary Class at the beginning of this year. Huge congratulations to all of our senior students on their NCEA exams. Once again OSG Blenheim had a 100% NCEA pass rate in 2023.
The start of a new academic year is a good time to reflect on what is important to us. Our OneSchool Global values are central to everything we do. These are the values that we should always look to for guidance. We all have Persona criteria to meet, and we are all still focused on achieving our Five Foci objectives. If each of us can achieve our goals for ourselves, our environment, and the people with whom we share our school community, we will be doing well, strengthening our OSG community and preparing our children for happy, successful, and fulfilling lives.
This term we will place a strong emphasis on punctuality, behaviour, and uniformity. These are some of the key components in developing a high-performing team. The school day begins at 8:40, and students are expected to arrive by 8:35. The students' behaviour in the LC and during Zoom lessons must adhere to the OSG criteria. Wearing the correct uniform is expected, and it is the responsibility of parents to ensure that their child is dressed appropriately before leaving the house in the morning. During Term 1 and Term 4, all students and staff are expected to wear hats while outside.
Please take note of the important dates in the newsletter, and we hope to see you on-site frequently. If you have not yet seen the changes to the school, please come in and take a look.
