Just a very quick message from me today, as there are so many other cool photos and videos to view below.
Three-way conferences (3WC) are being held Tuesday and Wednesday next week. We are expecting all parents to be involved in these meetings. These meetings are with your child's Homeroom Teacher for the Year 3-8 students and the Form Teacher for the Year 9-13 students.
I am sure you all know who you should book with, but if not, ask your son or daughter who their Form Teacher is.
Please make your bookings online via the information sent to you by OSG Head Office.
Thank you everyone for your continued support.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Upper South Athletics Day - Friday 12 March at Saxton Field, Stoke
This year our Upper South Campus Athletics Day is on Friday 12th March at Saxton Field, Stoke.
As with previous years we require a team of volunteers to support the running of the athletics events to ensure everything goes smoothly and safely over the course of the day.
If you have helped before you will know that this can be a busy day, but it does get you close to the action and to be part of celebrating students' successes on the day. If you would like to get involved please complete the following Smartsheet link.

Below are the provisional timetables for the day, if anything changes you will be notified.
Senior timetable:
Starting from this week, every fortnight a Conquer Award will be given to one student per Upper South site. This award is to recognise their efforts for "living the values" of OneSchool Global.
CONGRATULATIONS to the following conquer experts!

Nelson - Random Act of Kindness Awards
In the past week Nelson Campus have placed boxes throughout the school (in the Learning Centre, Year 7/8 rooms and the junior school), to encourage random acts of kindness.
This has been very successful and seen some great nominations. The leadership team reviewed all the nominations and chose three students who were all rewarded with a random act of kindness certificate.
CONGRATULATIONS to the following students! Keep up the kindness and the school will have a more positive environment.

West Coast - House Team Poster Building
On Red Heart Day in form time, Year 3-10 students started creating great house posters for athletics day. This involved getting together as a team, planning their posters and finally creating them.
They ran out of time to fully complete the posters, but the progress is great and we can't wait to see the finished product.

The much-needed new toilets in Westport have finally been finished and we have been able to use them for the first time, last week.
They also double as changing rooms which is a massive upgrade from the old shipping container. The new facility includes a staff toilet, three girls toilets, three boys toilets and a wheelchair access toilet which includes a shower and facilities for Gianni.
Lockers are also included in both the boys and girls toilets, which is a bonus as it stops everyone’s belongings being left around the school. This new addition to our campus has enabled us to become wheelchair accessible for anyone that requires this. Overall they are a great addition to the school.

Spanish is continuing in 2021 on the West Coast. The Year 6-8 students are being challenged to increase their vocabulary knowledge and create resources that will support the younger students and those new to the language. The counting in Spanish PowerPoint examples are their first effort.
Blenheim students went to Athletic Park this week to practice various skills ahead of athletics day. Students returned to school excited and motivated to do their best in Nelson on 12 March.

This morning Blenheim campus had a morning tea to raise money for Red Heart Day.
Senior students baked delicious items and the whole school got into the spirit of things by wearing red themed accessories - some of them creatively home made. A total of $260 was raised for The Heart Foundation - a huge achievement for a small campus!

For technology the Blenheim Year 7/8 class are tie dying.
This week we had a practice session and dyed two pieces of fabric, one using the bullseye method and the other using the swirl method.
Now that we have practised, we are going to be tie dying white clothes. Thank you to Sarah Clifford for her help with this project.
