Our Inquiry questions is: How can something small make a big impact?
We have been investigating how rockpools are vital for our sea life along with exploring mixing secondary colours from primary colours.
Enjoy our Rockpool Paintings.

Blenheim Fundraising Morning Tea - Bee Garden and Bee Bath
As part of our inquiry "How Might Something so Small Have Such a Big Impact", we plan to make a bee garden which will include a bee water bath.
Although, we have all done different inquiries, we decided to help Jovan create his bee garden. We hope that the garden will help bees pollinate and help the other gardens in the school.
As well as a bee garden we are also putting in a bee bath that bees can drink from. We think this is a good idea because lots of bees are dying and we really need them on earth.
To be able to buy plants and other equipment we decided to raise money by having a morning tea. We raised nearly $220.00.

After a bit of arguing and some compromise we had it all planned. It came up on us with the blink of an eye.
We rushed around the place, cooking stuff, setting up stuff, making stuff and washing stuff.
We had our problems, like spilling stuff and forgetting to cook stuff. In the end it was a huge success and we made around $220. We were very happy with this.

Blenheim Campus Year 7/8 Creative Writing
In writing, we have been focusing on our writing structure. Here is an example of a short, but powerful story that has verbs, adverbs and list sentences.
Into the Flames by Jett Clifford
Gasping for clean air, Thunder the elephant, bellowed to his friend Stripe. Weakly, Stripe let out a low growl. He lay on the ground lifelessly. The air was thick, as Thunder picked up the droopy tiger and placed him gingerly on top of his suit cases which were placed on his back.
Trudging and limping, scared and apprehensive, Thunder made his way through the burning embers that once was his beautiful playground. Now it was a waste land with black sky and burning ground.
Abruptly, the land began to rumble and shake.
Blenheim Year 3-6 Class - Germ Investigation
As part of our Assignment called “How might something small have a big impact?”, the Year 3-6 students at the Blenheim Campus have been investigating germs.
We took some swabs from various locations around our campus and wiped them onto some agar plates. These were then sealed up and labelled. It didn’t take long for some germs to grow!
Here are some photos to show the icky progress! A very good reminder about why we should wash our hands regularly! Once we finish our experiment, the agar plates will be taken to the hospital to be incinerated.
Day 1:

Day 3:
West Coast Y3-6 students have been inquiring into minibeasts, the importance of their body parts and their impact on our world.
They have also been exploring drawing techniques and using them to draw the detail in these creatures.
Here are some of their efforts in art and mini projects completed while practicing using the inquiry process to research.
