One of the 'Can Do' tasks for the Blenheim Year 3-6 students was to build some paper houses.

Last week, the West Coast and Blenheim students completed another trick shot challenge: everyday trick shots.

They continue to step up their trick shot and videoing skills - the shots have been amazing!

These everyday trick shots are modelled off some videos from Dude Perfect, known for their calm reactions.

Because of this, you will see some of the students act as nonchalantly as possible when successfully completing their great trick shots.

Here are a selection of some of our wonderful everyday trick shots.

We have been learning about the Baravelle Mathematical Design.

We discussed what we saw mathematically in this design (squares, triangles, ratio, enlargement, 90-degree angles, halves, red, blue etc) and how we could draw it ourselves. 

We found that measurement was very important to re-creating this design.  Here is a Zoom snip-shot of our learning.

Below are some stop motion videos the Year 5-6 Nelson students made as part of their Inquiry into famous aviators.

The children all wrote biographies about a famous aviator and then collaborated to make a stop motion video that told a famous aviator’s story.
