Friday 23rd September put on the best show of weather for the annual Upper South Cross Country.
Students were greeted with perfect running conditions of slight cloud, no wind and a beautiful trail to compete on.
Medals were dutifully awarded for place getters in each age group, with some great personal achievements witnessed. Five Special Awards were also awarded due to excellent displays of the five OneSchool values.
We thank those who travelled, and those who volunteered to help in various ways. There is no way the day would have been as successful without the support of staff, CA team and community.
We are already looking forward to the 2023 event and will have course records to compete for, watch this space.........................

The Year 3-5 Blenheim students took part in the Ride On Cycle Safety Programme on Wednesday 28th September. The students learnt how to check their helmet and bikes to ensure they are safe, how to ride slowly and turn in tight spaces, how to signal when riding in traffic, and how to stop safely. The highlight of the day would have to be the longest skid competition! The day was enjoyable and informative!

Harold and Ingrid visit the Nelson Campus
The Life Education Trust Bus visited the Nelson campus on the 15th and 16th of September. Over the two days, the Year 3-8s went along to meet Harold the Giraffe and his friend Ingrid. They taught us about making choices for good mental and physical health and wellbeing. Some highlights were learning about making healthy food choices, what to do if you are about to ‘flip your lid’, and the importance of integrity. One interesting fact the Year 3-4s learned was that a child should have no more than four teaspoons of sugar per day. The children were surprised to learn of foods that contain lots of hidden sugar like yoghurt and muesli bars.
