Coronavirus (Upper South updates)
Dear Parents
We at Upper South Campus are taking additional precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all our students, and staff – this is our highest priority.
At this stage our sites remain open. OSG are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. We are following the advice provided by our National and Global team.
We are/have increased the level of cleaning and hygiene in our campus, including:
- Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sanitisation, especially high touch areas.
- Ensuring soap dispensers and hand sanitisers are always available and replenished.
- Providing wipes/cleaning products to allow students and staff to self-clean equipment before and after use.
- Educating and reminding students and staff of the importance of good hygiene.
What can all students, staff and visitors do to help?
- Frequent hand washing and hand sanitising during your visits
- Making full use of the soap, sanitisers and cleaning items available
- When coughing or sneezing cover mouth with flexed elbow or tissue. Dispose of the tissue after use
- Minimise direct contact with people
- If you feel unwell, we ask that you seek medical advice from your doctor.
Upper South Athletics Day - Friday 13 March
Thanks everyone for an awesome Athletics Day! This day was very enjoyable and it was great to see all students putting in their full commitment. Congratulations to Troopers for first place overall, followed by Raiders and then Warriors. Click here for the link to the winners of each event: http://uppersouth.events/scores.html
The Upper South Junior School had a wonderful athletics day. The children participated in sprints, long distance running, quoit and vortex throwing, long jump, mini-relay and shot put. Competition for house points was fierce, with Raiders final winners. The children who were demonstrating the OneSchool values in each event were recognized, and those with the most nominations were awarded with a certificate at the end.
All the staff agreed that the children behaved exceptionally well throughout the whole day, and the effort and participation were outstanding. It was also noticeable how well the children supported each other during the events.

The CA team would like to extend a big thank you for the cooperation and good behaviour shown by all students at Upper South athletics on Friday.
We give special attention to those students who strived with endurance to gain personal excellence. Your effort and achievement did not go unnoticed and your respective house group gained points because you placed genuine importance in doing better than your best.
A special thank you to the Student leadership team for helping in the organization of this event and also to the catering team for providing top class food.
We are sure everyone is now ignited for the journey ahead.
Kind Regards,
Tasman CA team

Room 1 students made musical instruments using recycling materials – ‘Musycle”. At the end of the unit the students were able to make an instrument that vibrated and made sound. They demonstrated that by using recycling and reusing materials it can be beneficial to the environment. The students described how they made their instruments and were creative when exploring with different sounds and beats each instrument made. The final outcome is that we combined a variety of different beats to form a musical composition using our instruments.
Blenheim Campus - Y3-6 Swimming & Water Safety
The Year 3-6's from the Blenheim Campus have been taking part in swimming and water safety lessons at Stadium 2000. They have had great fun and have also made fantastic progress. They are hoping to go back in Term 4 to become even more confident swimmers.

The Year 3 – 6 Blenheim students have been looking at collective nouns. We made a class booklet. Here are some of our examples.
