Upper South Athletics Day - Friday 12 March at Saxton Oval, Nelson
Athletics Day is tomorrow and final arrangements are being sorted for this. Below are some important points to make sure you and your family are ready for what we expect to be a great day. Uniform – all students MUST wear OneSchoolGlobal uniform for the day. This could be their blue polo shirt or house coloured t-shirt and the OSG shorts/skort/skirt. Students must wear appropriate footwear to compete. If students are wearing spikes they must be cones or pyramids and no longer than 7mm. Students wearing spikes MUST use starting blocks. Schedule- all Blenheim and West Coast students need to be at the track by 9.15am, you need to have your name ticked off by a staff member taking the role at the results board. Nelson students (Year 7 – 12) at Campus by 8.30am as normal for role call. The schedule for the events is at the bottom of this message. Junior school – Blenheim, West Coast Year 3 – 6 students should go straight to the track by 9.15am, you will be competing on the far side of the track and in the adjacent field. Nelson students should meet Mrs Phillips at school to be shuttled across to the track. Parents are able to walk around to go and watch these events and cheer students on. Safety – the control centre, in-field area and back of the pavilion are all out of bounds. Only adults running the events or assigned as photographers and students that are competing in an event should be inside the track fence. Results – there is a results board on the lawn near the control centre. This will be updated as soon as results are confirmed and have been electronically entered. There can be some delay in this. This is also where finals lists will be posted for 100m. Please note that there is currently a glitch in the electronic systems (this is occurring internationally) used in the control centre and may mean finals lists have to be manually compiled. Please be patient with this and listen for announcements for when they are ready. Lunch orders – please ensure you have completed your lunch order on the Kindo app before lunchtime today.

This is a great digital planning tool already embedded in Canvas and can be accessed immediately – enabling students to access their planning anywhere and anytime. It is great for building strong self-directed skills. The video (just over six minutes) walks through how to use the calendar and is highly recommended.
Following is an update on internals results for Upper South.

Nelson Athletics Day Signs Challenge
Over the past two weeks at Nelson campus we have been using our creative talent to paint banners and signs for this years Athletics Day.
This was a house Challenge and the winners were.......RAIDERS!!!!
1st Place:
We will be getting the wooden signs judged tomorrow at Athletics Day.
On 26 February Nelson Campus had a fundraiser for Red Heart Day. Students dressed up in red accessories and the Year 10's provided a delicious morning tea, raising a total amount of $448.00 which will be donated to The Heart Foundation.
CLASS CULTURE
Our class created Silhouette Collage Portraits. We used photos and magazines to express ourselves. We learnt about each other’s families and interests.
INQUIRY
How might something small make a big impact?
We have learning about our Earth’s most precious resource - water. We inquired into learning about the Water Cycle and then investigating into where our actual water source is that comes to our tap.
Our class created a mural of the Water Cycle.

Over on the West Coast, we held our Red Heart day on 23rd February. We all dressed up in our red accessories, created a love heart shaped coin trail and sold a delicious morning tea which was made up of cupcakes, sticky franks , sausage rolls, jelly and homemade rhubarb punch.
The day was a huge success and together we made a total of $233 profit which we will donate (along with profits from Tasman and Blenheim), to The Heart Foundation.
