This year our Upper South Campus Athletics Day is on Friday 15th March at Saxton Field Athletics Track. Planning is underway with staff and our year 13s and students' training is well underway in PE classes.
As with previous years we require a team of volunteers to support the running of the athletics events to ensure everything goes smoothly and safely over the course of the day.
If you have helped before you will know that this can be a busy day, but it does get you close to the action and to be part of celebrating students' successes on the day. If you would like to get involved please email rebecca.james@westmount.school.nz with your name and if you have a preference for an event you can help with over the day.
We will get back in touch with volunteers during week 5 to let you know how things will be running on the day.

Please note; some events and times are subject to change. We will keep you informed of any changes if they occur.
'CHANGE INQUIRY'
In Room 1 we have used nature to make visual art portraits that show change. We know that art does not have to be permanent and can be made with a variety of mediums, for example our natural envrionment.

'A PEACH FOR A QUEEN'
Room 1 did some oral language this week and focussed on a play.

'KAIATA GARDEN'
The garden in Greymouth this summer has been amazing, and all our hard work has paid off.
The hours we spent; collecting manure, raising finance, inquiring into what to grow, exploring the best prices, turning over soil, propagating seeds, transplanting, weeding, tying back, deadheading and watering have all been worth it.
We have made re-usable vegie bags for our bumper crop of produce, onions, peas, lettuce, gourds, beans, tomatoes, carrots, silver-beet and corn to share (and sell) and beautifully fragrant sweet peas to brighten up the classroom.
What we are wondering now is just how on earth we are going to make our next garden even better!
